Lakers Coach Points the Way to Victory

It was Coach Byron Scott who lifted the Lakers out of their abysmal losing streak in 2014. Prior to that year no coach had taken the time to show the team which basket they were supposed to shoot at. Scott changed all that when, before each game, he would gather the Lakers players, circle the opposing team’s basket on a cheat sheet, and then point at it on the court, saying “THAT one! THAT one!”

Unfortunately, retaining the information proved immensely difficult for the majority of the players, and before the end of the first half, they would be back to their old method of play: shooting at the basket that seemed easiest to score on; their own.

When Scott was caught using a laser pointer to attract his players to the correct end of the court, he was fired.
